When you are traveling, your daily skin care routine sometimes gets forgotten. You may be exposed to different weather and environmental conditions and may eat a variety of foods. All of these factors may affect your skin while traveling.

The Changing Air

Remember that your skin breaks out when it lacks moisture, so whether you are traveling by plane or the place you are traveling to is dry, it is going to affect your skin. Additionally, if you often forget to drink water, this dehydrates your skin further.

A Change In Your Skin Care Routine

You may find that while traveling, it can be almost impossible to stick to your skin care routine religiously. You may not have time to wash your face properly and when your skin is not clean, the dead skin cells accumulate on the surface leading to uneven skin tone and breakouts.

Changes In Skin Care Products

Although those small little skin care products provided by hotels are there to make life easier, they don’t address specific skin problems and may not be designed to suit your skin type and sometimes using them will only lead to breakouts.

A Change In Your Schedule

While traveling, your sleep and wake up cycle becomes unpredictable, hence you might not be able to follow your usual skin care routine.

The good news is that there are solutions to all of these travel skin care worries. You don’t need to invest in products, all you need to do is tweak your routine and take only the ‘must have’products.

Here’s how:

Carry Facial Wipes

These are your best option if you don’t want to use cleansers provided by your accommodators and they can be used anywhere!

Carry A Facial Mist Spray

This is a must have for everyone – whether it’s a short weekend break or a long holiday. It is hydrating and will keep your skin fresh throughout your trip. It’s especially helpful if you have dry and combination skin or traveling to a colder climate.

Carry Your Favourite Facial Cleanser

Believe it or not, facial cleansers are more important than serums and under eye creams. This makes sure that at the end of the day, your skin is clear from dirt, pollutions and impurities. Unclean skin is a strict no-no!

Don’t forget moisturizer!

A good face moisturizer helps maintain your skin’s health. Keeping it hydrated, which prevents breakouts and issues caused by dryness. If you are traveling by plane remember to use before boarding as the air inside planes is drying and can damage your skin.

Don’t Skip the SPF

Ask anyone which product they can’t go without and they will tell you the secret – a good sunscreen!

Pack Some Sheet Masks

Sheet masks are lightweight and don’t take up any extra baggage space. An excellent alternative for creams and serums that you may miss while traveling!

Avoid Touching Your Face Often

Keeping your hands off your face helps minimize breakouts. You might pick up unknown bacteria that can cause multiple skin issues. Remember to wash your hands with an antibacterial hand wash as much as possible.

Lay Off The Makeup

It is better to stick to your daily day cream and SPF to let your skin breathe. This is because the changing weather conditions and atmosphere may cause break outs.

Carry A Good Eye Cream

If you are constantly battling eye puffiness, carry a good under eye cream with you. You may also wrap crushed ice in a washcloth as an alternative which will rejuvenate your eyes immediately.

Don’t Compromise On Beauty Sleep

Not getting enough sleep while traveling can make your skin more prone to issues.

We all want to look good on holiday and for those snaps so if you take good care of your skin while traveling, you won’t need to rely on foundation to make your skin look and feel good.

Follow these simple tips to avoid worrying about your skin during your trip!

Happy Holidays!

Want a new look? Fed up of looking in the mirror and seeing those wrinkles staring back at you? There could be a solution – and a less painful one at that!

Being the latest anti-aging trend in non-invasive cosmetic procedures it is known as a much less expensive and less risky alternative to a traditional surgical facelift.

So what’s all the fuss about?

Our liquid facelift uses Neauvia injectable hyaluronic acid based fillers along with Botulinum toxin, to help plump up, relax, and fill in the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. It can also restore youthful volume to the face, reduce sagging of the skin by filling it up from the inside, and re-contour drooping facial features or hollow eyes.

As part of the overall procedure, these products are often used in conjunction with each other to achieve the best results.

The use of Botulinum toxin in addition to Neauvia’s fillers can make for better, longer-lasting results.

Before and After

(56 y/o female)

The Package

The Liquid Facelift Package Consists of:

-Neauvia Stimulate

-Neauvia Intense

-Neauvia Intense Lips

When we are young, we don’t have wrinkles because the skin does a great job of stretching and holding in moisture. The dermis (middle layer of the skin) has an elastic quality thanks to fibres called elastin that keep the skin looking and feeling young. A protein in the dermis called collagen also plays a part in preventing wrinkles.

Starting in our 20s and over time collagen production gradually declines. With fewer reserves of both collagen and elastin our skin becomes fragile, thinner and cannot hold moisture;

The fat in the innermost layer (subcutaneous layer) that keeps the skin looking plump also begins to disappear leaving the epidermis layer (outermost layer) sagging which leads to fine lines and wrinkles.

However it’s not just a case of internal factors as external factors such as sun damage, smoking and facial expressions play a major part in aging.

Our faces begin to show wear and tear from muscle activity related to squinting in the sun too much or even smiling. It’s good to know that fine lines and wrinkles make their appearance in areas that experience more muscle movement and the creases become more obvious as we mature.

So don’t panic, age is not necessarily at fault. Although you may find the lucky ones who either have good genes or more sebum (natural skin oil) and don’t have a single wrinkle in their 50s or 60s.

Now we have the scientific details out of the way, let’s take a closer look at some of the different types of facial wrinkles.

Forehead lines

The forehead is the first area on a person’s face that begins to wrinkle. There is a reason behind this: the rest of the face has fat deposits which help to prevent wrinkles however the forehead has no fat underneath.

Drooping Eyebrows

As we age, gravity can be unkind – things start to sag that didn’t sag before and the skin below our eyebrows is no exception! If our eyebrow muscles are strained and overworked, they begin to slide down.

Crow’s Feet

Smile. Go on. Now look in the mirror. See those lines at the corner of your eyes? What do they look like? The feet of a bird? Crows feet. That’s what those little creases are called.

Tear Trough

Also known as dark circles underneath the eyes. As the skin here is rather thin, it has a tendency to show effects of aging sooner rather than later.

Nasolabial Folds

Commonly known as smile lines or laugh lines, these folds are the lines on either side of the mouth that run from each side of the nose to the corner of the mouth and are more prominent when you smile.

Marionette Lines

Yes, this is the actual cosmetic term. Try not to laugh – this isn’t puppet talk! These are two very distinct lines that run from the side of the mouth down to the chin.

Eventually, everyone will have some wrinkles. It’s a natural part of aging.

We’ll be discussing what can be done about these rather uninvited wrinkles in our next blog post!
